SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Homicide detectives are searching for clues after a man was shot on the grounds of a Sacramento motel Tuesday night.

A security guard heard the gunfire while patrolling at the Motel 6 on Arden Way near Ethan Way around 9 p.m.

The guard went to investigate and saw a man collapse on a grassy area in the parking lot.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Deputies say the man was shot in a breezeway of the motel and was able to walk out to the parking lot where he was found.

No suspects have been arrested.
