STOCKTON (CBS13) – Stockton Police are investigating the city’s 50th homicide after a man was found shot outside a home late Wednesday night.
Police say a 26-year-old man was found with a shot gun wound outside a home on Dalewood Street just off West Lane at 11:33 p.m.
He was taken to the hospital where he later died. The victim was identified Thursday as Phi Van Tran of Stockton.
No suspects are in custody.
Officers say recent murders have pointed to a more violent problem and say they’ve been pulling more guns off the street than they have before.
Stockton had a record 58 homicides last year.
