The Grant Napear Show - October 8, 2012

The Oakland A's and San Francisco Giants rode into the playoffs with a lot of momentum, but have been quickly brought back down to earth. Grant started off the show by talking about the 0-2 playoff hole that both teams have already gotten themselves into. Grant then covered several topics around the NFL and dove into some basketball talk in anticipation for the start of the Sacramento Kings' preseason games.

MLB Network broadcaster Matt Vasgersian came on the show to talk about the playoffs with Grant.

Vasgersian talked about the A's two losses in Detroit this weekend, the Cincinnati Reds' domination of the Giants on Saturday and Sunday, and what to expect as both series' switch locations for game three.

NFL analyst Solomon Wilcots commented on a wide range of NFL topics on the show today.

Wilcots talked about the strengths and weaknesses of the San Francisco 49ers, the record offensive day that the 49ers had on Sunday against the Bills, the emergence of the Houston Texans, the pressure that the New York Jets face if they continue to lose and the impressive start to Andrew Luck's career.

Keith Smart, head coach of the Kings, joined Grant to talk about what he has seen from his team this offseason.

Smart talked about the Kings' training camp in Colorado Springs, the improvement of Tyreke Evans' jump shot and his hard work this summer, the maturation of DeMarcus Cousins, Cousins' focus on defense, the importance of each player accepting their roles and the potential for Thomas Robinson to be a productive physical defender.
