AUBURN (CBS13) – A wayward school bus has slammed through a fence and into a home in Auburn early Monday morning.

The accident happened at Richardson Drive and Bosal Circle.

Some girls were eating breakfast at the kitchen table when they heard a loud crashing noise and saw the school bus crash through their backyard fence.

The Durham School Services bus stopped just feet from their window.

No one was on board the bus when it crashed, not even a driver.

The California Highway Patrol supervisor investigating the crash says the bus was being prepped for a field trip and it appears the parking brake was not set. There is an elementary school with bus yard behind the home.
