Power Line Snaps, Cutting Power To More Than 13,000 In Citrus Heights/North Highlands

NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) – A snapped power line knocked out power to more than 13,000 in the North Highlands and Citrus Heights areas Friday morning.

It's unclear what exactly caused a power line to snap in front of Rosie's Country Kitchen on Greenback Lane and Auburn Boulevard.

SMUD responded and turned of the power in the area and physically cut the line. At one point, more than 13,000 customers were without power.

Crews estimate power will be restored to all customers by 10 a.m. Friday.
