Lodi Woman Pleads For Return Of Dog Last Seen During Yard Sale

LODI (CBS13) - A Lodi woman is pleading for her dog back after she says someone stole it during her yard sale over the weekend.

Debbie Henry last saw her family dog Chloe running around in her yard sale Saturday. But what makes this story even sadder is that Chloe has played a big role in improving the life of her special-needs grandchild.

"If you have her, her name is Chloe," Henry said Monday. "Treat her good if you're going to keep her, but I want her back."

Debbie can't talk about her lost dog without crying. She says someone took her beloved Chloe.

"She doesn't run away, she doesn't run away," she said.

As much as it hurts to lose a family pet, Debbie fears Chloe's absence will impact her special-needs grandson the most.

"He reads to her, reads books, calms him down, plays with her, holds her," she said.

The missing dog was reported to police, but they tell us at this point it's unclear if someone "stole" the dog or picked her up thinking she was a lost dog.

"We noticed her playing around and 30 minutes later, I go, 'Where's Chloe? Where's Chloe?'" Debbie said.

Debbie is up against the clock. She's moving out of town on Thursday and worries if she's not reunited with Chloe by then, the dog will be gone forever.

"They could have stole all my boxes of stuff, I wouldn't have cared, but the dog is special," she said.

Debbie says she trying to round up some money to use as a reward for whoever brings back her beloved dog.

Chloe is a Yorkshire terrier-Maltese mix with gray hair.
