CARMICHAEL (CBS13) – A police dog helped catch a suspect on the run in Carmichael Monday morning.

Deputies say they spotted the suspect breaking into a cars near American River College.

They say he ran off into a neighborhood near College Oak and Winding Way.

A K9 officer tracked down the suspect who was hiding in a backyard.

The suspect was treated for scratches and bites.

Officers said he would be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges included burglary and running from officers.
