SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Sacramento police officers shot an aggressive dog while they were serving a search warrant on Wednesday morning.

Officers went to a home in the 1000 block of Los Robles Boulevard off Rio Linda Boulevard in Del Paso Heights and encountered the pit bull, which was taken to a local animal hospital after being shot.

Once inside the residence, they seized a handgun and drugs.

One of the three adults in the house was arrested and a child was taken into protective custody, according to department spokesman Officer Doug Morse.

The name of the man arrested wasn’t released.
