Bicyclist Shot And Killed In Del Paso Heights Has Been Identified

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The Sacramento County coroner's office has identified a bicyclist who was shot and killed Tuesday evening in Del Paso Heights.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Michael Burdan of Sacramento.

Burdan was shot while riding his bike near May Street and North Avenue around 6:40 pm.

Police were called to the area for reports of shots fired and found Burdan lying in the middle of the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Burdan was riding his bike to a family member's home in the neighborhood at the time of the shooting.

Police say, at this time they have no motive for the shooting and no specific suspect information.

Burden's death is Sacramento's 30th homicide of the year.
