Gunman Arrested In Attempted Christmas Tree Theft

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police arrested a man who shot at a security guard early Saturday morning while he was trying to steal Christmas trees.

The shooting happened at a Christmas tree lot at 1000 Sacramento Avenue just after midnight Saturday. When an on-site security guard confronted the man as he was taking the trees, the man pulled out a shotgun and fired three shots at the guard, say West Sacramento Police.

The gunman ran off.

The security guard was not injured.

At 2 p.m. police investigators arrested the suspect, Brian Brinsfield, 20, of West Sacramento at his home. He will be booked into the Yolo County Jail on felony charges.
