Raiders Might See Return of McFadden and Goodson For First Time In Nearly A Month

By Ryan Leong

For a third straight day of practice, running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson were limited and both are listed as questionable for Sunday's game.  Whether those two play or not, expect all-purpose back Marcel Reece to get the ball both as a running back and receiver.

One person who is out for certain is Rolando McClain. The disgruntled third year linebacker is suspended until Dec. 10th for conduct detrimental to the team after getting into a heated exchange with head coach Dennis Allen on Wednesday during practice.   He also cost himself $114,000 in salary for two games.  Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie met with beat writers for the first time in months to address the situation regarding McClain.

“It’s going to be a possibility," when asked if McClain has played his final game with Oakland.  "He’s suspended. There’s always, what’s going to happen afterward? What’s his approach afterward? I know what he’s texting, Facebooked, all that, what he said, that he’s gone. But I think I’m the one that’s going to make that call, not him.”

Quarterback Carson Palmer was a full participant on Friday after being limited on Thursday.  Palmer as he says, "jammed" the thumb on his throwing hand when he hit a helmet while throwing a pass at Cincinnati but expects to be ready to start Sunday's game.   Palmer has good success against the Cleveland Browns from his time with the Bengals.  He is 9-3 vs. Cleveland in his career.

Defensive tackle Richard Seymour did not practice all week and will miss a fourth straight game with knee and hamstring injuries.  Defensive end Jack Crawford is out with a toe injury and of course, McClain is out as he serves his two game suspension.

As for the Browns, their rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden has been cleared to play in Sunday's game.  He has suffered a concussion vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday but had two full days of practice to get the start against the Raiders.

Running back Trent Richardson has been a big reason the Browns have won three of their last six games following an 0-5 start to the season.  He has been batting chest. rib, and finger injuries but is probable to play and hasn't missed a game.
He only had eight carries against the Colts in week 7.  Since then, Richardson has between 24 and 29 carries in the last four games.  He has 209 rushes for 755 yards and six touchdowns on the season.

Veteran kick and punt returner Joshua Cribbs only practiced on Friday and was limited.  Cribbs has been recovering from a shoulder and chest injury which has affected his playing time and the possible speculation from fans he'd be replaced by Travis Benjamin.   But according to head coach Pat Shurmer, he's good to go for Sunday.  Despite an illness to receiver Eric Hagg, Shurmer also said he'll be in the lineup against the Raiders.

Defensive back Usama Young is out with a concussion and so is DB Dmitri Patterson who was limited in practice all week with an ankle injury.
