Pastor Of Online Ministry Accused Of Stabbing Roommate In Genitals With Sword

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A self-proclaimed pastor is accused of an ungodly act: attacking his roommate with a sword.

David Goudie says he's a man of God, but he's gone from the pulpit to a culprit overnight. He's now an inmate at the Sacramento County Jail, where he's expected to have a lot of time to pray for forgiveness if found guilty.

"He called himself a soldier of the Lord," roommate, and now victim, David Mock said.

Goudie, 51, is accused of breaking the law, as well as one of God's commandments, which is love thy neighbor.

"I saw an object just coming towards me, and it was a sword," said Mock.

Mock says Goudie, whom he shared a home with for four months, viciously attacked him with a 4-foot sword Tuesday.

"The sword went through my hand and through my groin -- through my privates," said Mock.

Before the attack, Mock says Goudie went on a 24-hour booze binge, allegedly threatening to hurt and kill him. Mock says he called police three times that day. At one point, he locked himself in his room, waiting hours before police arrived.

"He's a good guy, he was a good guy," Mock said of Goudie.

Trying to make sense of it all, Mock says Goudie is a religious man and the brains behind Power Christianity, an online ministry.

"Shortly after moving in, I realized it was much more of a radical Christianity," said Mock.

Something made Goudie snap recently, Mock says.

For the self-proclaimed minister, the only sermons will come from his cell, at least for now.

Doctors aren't sure if Mock's hand will fully recover.

"It was sick, or something happened," said Mock tearfully. "It wasn't him, you know?"

Goudie is facing a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to make a court appearance Monday.
