Statewide Amber Alert For Missing Oakland Girl Cancelled

OAKLAND (CBS) — A statewide Amber Alert that was issued Friday morning for a missing one-year-old girl has been cancelled.

Oakland police say at around 12:30 a.m., the child's mother reported the girl was kidnapped by the child's father, Kim Tolefree, following a domestic incident in which Tolefree allegedly assaulted the child's mother and rammed her vehicle with his truck.

Police learned that Tolefree also had several firearms with him in the truck.

An Amber Alert was issued at 4:30 a.m. and the suspect was taken into custody. Tolefree told police that there was no child, and claims the woman made the story up.

Police are still working to confirm Tolefree's story.
