Ceres Man Reportedly Had 100,000 Images Of Child Porn

CERES (CBS13) - A 52-year-old Ceres man who had more than 100,000 images of child pornography on his computers was arrested Friday, authorities said.

Agents from the Sacramento division of the FBI and Stanislaus County sheriff's detectives arrested George Pires at his home in the 1700 block of East Service road at 7:30 a.m.

The investigation started in October when deputies responded to a 911 call reporting that Pires possessed child pornography.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and seized photos and several computers. Computer forensic analysis located more than 100,000 images of child pornography on the computers, the sheriff's office said.

Because of the large quantity of child pornography evidence found, sheriff's detectives contacted the FBI for assistance. The joint investigation resulted in the arrest Friday on federal charges of possessing and manufacturing child pornography.

Sheriff's detectives are looking for potential victims of child molestation. Anyone with information on Pires is asked to call Detective Megan Brazil at 209-525-7082 or Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
