The Grant Napear Show - February 18, 2013

With the March 1 deadline nearing for Mayor Kevin Johnson to submit a proposal to keep the Kings in Sacramento, Grant discussed Johnson's appearance at the All-Star Game this past weekend and the confidence he exuded.

Grant took some time to remember the late Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss. Buss passed away on Monday so Grant reflected on all of his accomplishments. Grant also ranted on Reggie Miller's inaccurate statements during the NBA All-Star Game, in which Miller stated the Memphis Grizzlies were an Eastern Conference team and inaccurately credited a Bleacher Report writer for the work of an ESPN journalist.

Sports Illustrated legal analyst Michael McCann came on the show with Grant to talk about the Kings' relocation situation.

McCann talked about Mayor Johnson's discussions in Houston over All-Star weekend, the Maloofs' possible actions if the NBA Board of Governors deny the sale of the Kings to the Seattle group and Commissioner Stern's downplay of the minority owners' possible right of first refusal.

Oakland A's play-by-play announcer Ken Korach joined Grant today to preview the Athletics' upcoming season.

Korach discussed the A's pitching staff, the young players that came from the Sacramento River Cats, the hot streak that the A's rode into the playoffs last season and this year's competition in the American League West.
