SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A Sacramento homeowner is thanking a neighbor for alerting them to a fire in their home overnight.

The flames started to take over the attic at the home on Santa Susana Way at around 2 a.m. Thursday.

Fire crews were able to keep the flames from spreading from the attic.

Everyone inside the home was able to get out safely.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
