SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The roof of a Natomas home suffered heavy fire damage on Saturday morning.
The fire broke out at around 10:10 a.m. at a home in the 3000 block of Bridgeford Drive. An ember from a fire in the fireplace flew out of the chimney and landed on the dry shake roof causing it to catch fire, according to Sacramento Fire Department Chief Mark Bentovoja.
A neighbor knocked on the door to tell the residents the roof was on fire. All five occupants, including a 3-month-old infant, were able to get out safety.
Bentovoja says the roof and attic are a complete loss.
