Police: 1 Dead In Fiery Southbound Highway 99 Crash

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - One person is dead after a fiery crash on Highway 99 in Sacramento Wednesday. The three right lanes of the highway were.

Around 2:15 p.m., a Mercedes-Benz sedan hit a guardrail and flipped onto its side near Florin Road. When police and fire personnel arrived to the scene, the car was fully engulfed in flames.

Police say a female was found dead at the scene. Originally, authorities speculated there was a possible second victim, but due to the positioning of the vehicle, were not certain. Police now say the woman was the only occupant in the vehicle.
