GALT (CBS13) – A big rig engulfed in flames stopped Galt traffic on northbound Highway 99 near Twin Cities Road Thursday afternoon.

The fire started around 2 p.m. on the shoulder of the freeway and forced the closure of all northbound lanes. The lanes remained closed until road crews could repair the asphalt.

The truck, which was carrying hot sauce, caught fire under an overpass. It is unknown if the overpass suffered any damage.

One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
