Suspects Allegedly Breaking Into Vehicles At Sunrise Mall Caught After Police Chase
CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - Police arrested two fleeing suspects allegedly attempting to break into vehicles at the Sunrise Mall Saturday night.
Around 8:30 p.m., a citizen alerted police of the attempted break-ins. Officers responded immediately and saw the suspects fleeing in a vehicle headed eastbound on Greenback Lane.
The fleeing vehicle sideswiped another car near Illinois Street in Orangevale before going into a ditch. The suspects then fled on foot.
A perimeter was established and, with the help of citizens' sightings, the suspects were quickly caught.
The driver, 25-year-old Anthony Junkin, was booked for outstanding felony warrants and evasion charges. The passenger, 28-year-old Marcus Culbertson was also booked on evasion charges.
