Second Person Injured In Richmond Shooting That Left Toddler Injured

RICHMOND, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a second person was also struck in a shooting in Richmond that left a 1-year-old wounded.

KGO-TV reports the man was on a bicycle Thursday afternoon when he was hit. According to police, the shooter fired at a man on the street, but struck the apartment building where the baby, Elijah, was being fed by his grandparents.

It's not clear whether the man on the bike was the intended target.

Police have not identified a suspect, but are investigating the incident as potentially gang-related.

The 1-year-old was struck in the neck by a bullet fragment. He underwent surgery at Children's Hospital Oakland and is expected to recover. The man on the bike is also expected to recover.
