Stockton Peeping Tom Caught On Tape

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A peeping tom was caught on tape looking into the bedroom window of a girl in Stockton on Friday morning, and now detectives hope that surveillance video will lead them to the culprit.

Someone inside the home heard commotion and saw the prowler leaving the home. When officers arrived, they quickly got their hands on the surveillance video placed above the girl's window that clearly shows a man going to great lengths to look at the teenager.

"I feel that he's just not safe," said Meenu Singh, a concerned mother.

We showed the creep caught on tape to the mother of a 17 year old in the same neighborhood. She was shocked to see the man watching through the teen's window for more than minute before he got on his knees and even crawled in for a longer look.

"Its, it's scary. They can break the glass and come in too if nobody's there," said Singh. "But they are protected with a camera."

Officers say it's not clear if the man targeted this home in particular, but say it appears to be an isolated incident.

The man is described to be in his 40s and is about 6 feet tall and was riding a mountain bike.

Definitely, he was thinking about doing something – had some type of ulterior motive that was very suspicious and definitely very concerning to us at the police department," said Stockton police Ofc. Joe Silva.

Officers posted the video on social media and already have some leads. Neighbors say they will be on alert.
