SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sheriff's homicide detectives have arrested the roommate of a woman who was found shot to death at her Sacramento home on Tuesday afternoon.
Linda Gabaldon, 45, was arrested Thursday for the murder of her roommate, 53-year-old Rebecca Brau, according to Sacramento County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Jason Ramos. Gabaldon called 911 on Tuesday at 4 p.m., saying she came home and found Brau dead inside their Mascot Avenue home. Ramos says Brau had multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gabaldon was question and taken into custody for violation of parole. She is being held in custody and is ineligible for parole.
"The victim's roommate called to report she had returned home and found the victim deceased from a gunshot wound," said Brau's sister. "She was very devoted to her children. She loved her children and it's just sad."
Brau reportedly leaves behind two children ages 8 and 13.
