Baby Lamb Allegedly Kicked, Thrown And Fed Beer

VACAVILLE (CBS13) — A woman is accused of kicking and tossing a two-day-old baby lamb after giving it beer.

Burger City waitress Holly Scott says she saw Lillian Wohn throw the baby lamb into the bushes on Saturday, and says the abuse only got worse.

"She threw it on the ground and kicked it and said it must be drunk because she's been feeding it too much beer," Scott said.

Scott says she watched the Wohn give the lamb beer in between dropping and twirling her by her front legs.

"I couldn't believe it. I was like, 'What is wrong with you?'" Scott said. "So she just got up, grabbed it by it's little paws and ran."

That's when Scott called the police and didn't let the woman get away.

"A whole bunch of customers got involved that were chasing her, and were not going to let it happen," Scott said.

Vacaville Police Sgt. Vince Nadasdy said he wasn't surprised by the crowd's response.

"Any time anyone who is helpless or defenseless, people take great exception to that, and they tend to get involved," he said.

Wohn was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty and poisoning an animal. Nobody knows why she had the baby lamb.

This story has a happy ending: She's now being taken care of by a 4-H foster family who named her Star.

Star is doing well, all things considered, and her foster family says she'll make a full recovery.
