UPDATE: North Sacramento County Shooting Victim Identified

FOOTHILL FARMS (CBS13) — A woman shot in broad daylight in Foothill Farms was identified on Tuesday.

Roxanne Mason, 34, of Rancho Cordova and a 42-year-old man were shot in the 4400 block of Oakhollow Drive in north Sacramento County at around 1:20 p.m. on Monday. Deputies say an argument had preceded the incident. Police canvassed the area for witnesses, but were unable to get a description of the suspects.

It's the third shooting in 10 days in the area.

On May 19, a man who is now reportedly on life support was shot in the same complex. A day earlier, 10-year-old Elvira Campos was shot and killed by unnamed suspects in her home on Channing Way.

"It has been very violent," Sacramento County Sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos said. "As far as any connection we can definitively establish, it's too early to tell."

Around four shots would let neighbors know to take cover on Memorial Day

"This is a Memorial Day we're never going to forget now, because we're having a memorial day of our own," said neighbor Tracee Gooden.

Deputies wouldn't offer a motive, though a victim's purse was left under a canopy to preserve the evidence of the shooting.

For parents like Michael Casto, it's even more terrifying.

"I'm just grateful I had them inside at the time, especially on a day with no school," he said.
