El Dorado County Supervisor Withdraws From Discussions After Arrest

EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) — An El Dorado County Supervisor was in and out of his first meeting since his recent arrest.

Ray Nutting agreed to leave the room whenever the topic involves federal money during Tuesday's meeting.

Board members say the action wasn't imposed on him, rather it was something that he and the board worked out to avoid losing funding agreements. A provision in funding agreements states the group cannot have a member who is undergoing an indictment.

Nutting faces felony charges for not reporting taxpayer money he collected for clearing brush on his own property.

The board will have to make some decisions without Nutting's vote, like ones at an upcoming budget meeting at the end of the month.

Nutting didn't want to talk about the charges against him on camera, but did say his website proves he's done nothing wrong.
