SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Tickets go on sale Friday for Northern California’s biggest summer rock festival slated to shake Discovery Park in September.
This is the second year Sacramento will host Monster Energy’s Aftershock Festival, with festivities expanding to three days as opposed to last years one.
Ace Of Spades will host a free kick off party for Aftershock attendees on Sept. 13, featuring the wild antics of 1980s glam metal, parody band Steel Panther. More special guests will be announced closer to the event date.
The multi-stage set up of Aftershock promises plenty of moshing and head-banging action for fans as some of the biggest rock bands around descend on Sacramento.
Korn will be headlining the first official day of the festival on Saturday, Sept. 14, which also features Shinedown, Papa Roach, Skillet, Buckcherry, In This Moment, Steel Panther, Device, P.O.D., Pop Evil, Otherwise, SOiL, Heaven’s Basement, and a special guest to be announced closer to the festival.
No stranger to the Sacramento area, Avenged Sevenfold will return to headline Sunday, along with a yet-to-be announced special co-headliner. Sunday’s line up also features Volbeat, A Day To Remember, HIM, Halestorm, Asking Alexandria, Falling In Reverse, All That Remains, Airbourne, and Nothing More.
The festival will also feature a third stage with 14 additional bands that will be announced July 1.
Rock fans be sure to buy your tickets; because, if the rapid sellout of pre-sale tickets is any indication of what’s a head, you don’t want to miss out.
