UPDATED: Firefighters Contain 237-Acre Grass Fire Near Roseville

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) - Firefighters have contained a grass fire burning west of Roseville.

The fire, which is off 5280 PFE Road, burned 237 acres, according to Cal Fire, and is now 100 percent contained. Originally, Cal Fire reported the fire had grown to 250 acres.

The strength of the wind had firefighters worried the blaze could have made its way to nearby Roseville.

Crews are mopping up hot spots to make sure the fire doesn't reignite Thursday evening.

The fire is another reminder for residents to ensure they clear defensible space to give firefighters a better chance of stopping a fire from burning their homes.

No structures are currently being threatened.
