Officers Find 36 Stolen Catalytic Converters At Stockton Residence

STOCKTON (CBS13) - Police arrested five people Monday in connection with catalytic converter thefts.

At 8:10 p.m., officers saw a Mercedes-Benz speeding on Fox Creek Drive in Stockton. They lost the vehicle, but found the car a short time later parked in the driveway of a residence in the 9000 block of Fox Creek Drive.

Officers say they spoke with people at the home who turned out be the same people who had been in the car. They searched the residence and found a loaded handgun and 37 stolen catalytic converters.

Police arrested Sophanny Poeun, a 23-year-old male and documented gang member, Sanipha Kham, a 20-year-old female, Jackson Ham, a 21-year-old male, Nhim Surteng, a 19-year-old male, and a 16-year-old male. All of the suspects face weapon and stolen property charges.
