Stockton Shooting In Broad Daylight Wounds Two People

STOCKTON (CBS13) — A gunman opened fire on three people standing in front of a Stockton home on Thursday.

Christine Boaz was driving to the grocery store when she saw a terrifying sight.

"I looked into my rearview mirror and I saw a guy outside of his car on the passenger side with a guy holding a gun with both hands going, 'Pow pow pow," she said.

Police say the shooter opened fire and a man and a woman were hit and rushed to the hospital.

Boaz pulled over and tried to help the woman shot in the stomach.

"I saw that someone was down on the pitch, and on the ground," she said. "It was a young lady. I asked if she was OK and she shook her head, 'No.'"

Officers say the shooter and at least one other victim were involved in a disturbance before the brazen shooting. While they investigate a motive, they are pleased witnesses were willing to provide clues.

The shooting was not a drive-by, as the shooter got out of his car, then started shooting.
