Ripon Officers Rescue 2 Drowning Dogs From Canal

RIPON (CBS13) - Ripon officers were able to save two dogs from drowning Friday morning.

Just before 8 a.m., a Ripon Public Works employee called police about two dogs that had gotten trapped in a canal north of Vermeulen Park.

Responding officers quickly located a German Shepherd and a St. Bernard treading water and pressed up against a metal grate in the canal. The officers say it was very apparent the dogs were drowning in the rapid moving waters.
