Fire Breaks Out At Rental Home In Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Investigators are calling an early morning house fire in south Sacramento suspicious.
The fire broke out in the bedroom of a vacant rental home on Grandstaff Drive at Cherrywood Circile just after 2 a.m. and spread to the attic. Fire officials say it caused severe damage to the home.
"The biggest problem here is the closest engine was browned out. A medic and a truck couldn't put it out because they don't carry water," said Chris Ortiz, a Sacramento Fire Dept. battalion chief.
Fire officials called animal control to capture a pit bull that was running around the area.
No one was inside the home at the time.
No other homes were damaged by the fire.
