UPDATED: Calaveras County Suspicious Death Now Homicide Investigation

WEST POINT (CBS13) - A Tuesday morning 911 call sparked an investigation into a suspicious death at a Calaveras County home.

Detectives say they found two people bleeding and lying unconscious inside a home in the 200 block of Stanley Road in West Point.

A 45-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a 37-year-old woman, was taken to a nearby hospital.

Neighbors who live next door say they didn't hear any kind of commotion.

"I didn't hear no screaming, no shooting, no nothing," said one woman.

Investigators say they were notified of the victims by a 911 call, but would not say who made that call.

Originally, the death was only considered suspicious, but investigators announced Wednesday afternoon it was now being investigated as a homicide.
