Sacramento Man Allegedly Beat Dog To Death, Disposed Body In Garbage

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A Sacramento man is accused of killing the family dog and tossing the body in the trash Tuesday night.

Aaron Cesena, 46, is facing felony charges of malicious cruelty to an animal.

Officers say the situation started out as a family disturbance at a home in the 3200 block of 35th Avenue. Cesena's brother called police around 5:50 p.m. saying Cesena was intoxicated had just beaten their family pet to death.

"They contacted both the person who called in and the suspect. They did their investigation and, sure enough, they did find the dog in the trash can," said Sacramento police Officer Michelle Gigante.

Cesena is being held on $20,000 bail.
