Artist Completes 1,000 Bowls Project To Help Feed Hungry

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - It took 6,000 pounds of clay and 500 artist collaborations to create the artistic project for change.

One-thousand Bowls To Feed The Hungry is the brainchild of artist Chris Thompson. He came up with the idea when he was looking to develop something bigger than himself.

The project is now on display in time for second Saturday, with all net proceeds going to local charities helping to feed the hungry.

"Eight times 50,000, that's almost a half million dollars worth of food. I think that makes a difference," said Thompson.

The pieces cost anywhere from $50 to $100.
