UPDATE: Man Sought After Fire Kills Two Men In Florin Home

FLORIN (CBS13) — Sacramento Sheriff's deputies are considering a fire that killed two men on French Road suspicious.

"We discovered early on that a truck was missing from the scene," Sgt. Jason Ramos said. "Between 3 and 3:30 p.m. today there was a carjacking in Modesto in which someone got out of that truck and carjacked, at gunpoint, a fisherman down in that area."

The car is described as a green 1992 Toyota Camry.

They are seeking 32-year-old Abraham Felmley for questioning in the case.

The two men inside the home have not been identified, but neighbors say it was a father in his 80s and his son in his 60s.

"I mean they were good people," said neighbor Tim Kievtos. "Especially the son. We've known him for a very long time. He always came to my place and take care of us."

Tiffany Tidwell lives nearby and saw the swiftness of the fire.

"I was sitting in my living room, and I just woke up and I looked out the window, I see black smoke," she said. "We ran outside and there was a big fire."

Within seconds, flames would appear violently escaping from the windows and the doors.

The white house along French Road is now black.

"Smoke conditions were extreme," said Metro Fire spokesman Chris Quinn. "Heavy, black, acrid smoke."

Crews fighting through the smoke and flames weren't able to get to the two men inside the home in time.

"It was a deep-seated fire—the fire rolled around completely in the home."

The men were not saved, but a dog hiding in a spare bedroom was. The pup was able to escape with only a few burns to its paws.
