Man Says He Had Warned Police About Person Of Interest In Deadly Florin Fire

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The bodies of two men were found inside a burning home along French road in the florin area of Sacramento on Monday and investigators say a person of interest may be to blame.

CBS13 spoke with a relative of the two men believed to be dead in the home and says their deaths could have been prevented. He says he warned detectives the person of interest, Abraham Felmley, several times in the last week.

"You believe it is your dad and brother in that house?" I asked.

"Absolutely. I just haven't digested this yet and I haven't had time," said Darryl Felmley.

Darryl hasn't heard from his dad, Chesley, or his brother, Dennis, since the fire.

"They're not going to be able to identify positively until they do an autopsy. But we know who's in there," he said.

The fire happened at 11 a.m. And as firefighters made their way inside, they found the bodies of two men. Arson investigators thought it was suspicious and called the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. Early on, detectives determined a truck was missing from the home. Hours later, there was a carjacking in Merced. Detectives say a fisherman calling saying his car had been taken at gunpoint. The victim identified the carjacker as Abraham Felmley, the grandson of Chesley and Dennis' nephew. The sheriff's department is calling him a person of interest.

Darryl says Abraham has had problems with the law. He claims he recently saw disturbing posts on his Abraham's Facebook page.

"Threatening patricide saying that he's at his whit's end, that he's at the end of his rope," said Darryl.

He says he called the Sacramento Police Department three times in the last week with his concerns.

"They said they can't do anything until he commits a crime," said Darryl.

But Darryl says Abraham had a warrant out for a parole violation and believes his nephew is responsible for what happened here.

"If they had just done a background check, like they said they did, they would have seen he was wanted on a parole violation and this would have never had happened," said Darryl.

Due to the late hour, we were unable to obtain a comment from Sacramento police.

Abraham is believed to be driving a 1992 green Toyota Camry.
