Day 3: Crews Continue To Work On Broken Natomas Water Main

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Crews are working for the third day to repair a North Natomas water main that was accidentally broken Monday morning.

Repair crews were able to expose the water main Tuesday night, which is about 13 feet underground, and will continue to remain onsite until all repair work is complete.

The water main was broken Monday by a Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District vehicle that was working on Arena Boulevard just east of Truxel Road.

The broken water main serves about 27,000 area homes and businesses.

Officials say they hope to have the repairs complete by Thursday.

Residents are asked to continue conserving water until all repairs are complete. They are urged to not water lawns, wash their cars, and to limit indoor water usage by only running major appliances if necessary.
