EXCLUSIVE: Woman Mugged In Old Sacramento Shares Horrific Experience

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A 73-year-old woman brutally attacked and mugged in Old Sacramento on Sunday is sharing her horrific experience only with CBS13.

"It's been horrendous."

For this 73-year-old woman, a trip to Old Sacramento for dinner ended in terror.

"It just seemed amazing that somebody would do this in broad daylight, with so many people around."

It happened Sunday when the senior was walking on Second Street to an early meal, when two suspects came up out of nowhere, yanking her purse away.

"I have no memory of what happened to me until I was in the ambulance."

The suspect who grabbed the purse would end up pushing his victim to the ground. Not only would she suffer a painful broken arm and dislocated shoulder, she'd be placed in the intensive care unit with bleeding to her brain after her head slammed into the walkway.

She was released just yesterday.

"I think they were probably just trying to get what they wanted to get."

But in the process, leaving a woman very hurt and in pain. While her purse was found later, $100 was gone, along with all of her credit cards.

It comes at a time when police are already investigating a rash of robberies in nearby Midtown. Officers are checking to see if any are related.

In the meantime, this woman will just try to recover, and hope for justice.

"I just want them to stop this so that no one else has to go through what I have gone through."

She says she still may need to have surgeries on her arm.
