Airline Reservation System Back Up Following Nationwide Outage

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A computer system outage that caused flights of several major airlines to be delayed is back up and running today.

Sabre, the global reservation system used by Jetblue, Alaska, Virgin, and American Airlines, went down late last night causing delays nationwide, which left passengers stuck and airlines scrambling.

Several people we spoke with at Sacramento International Airport waited hours to see loved ones.

"Its 1:30 now and the flight was supposed to come in at 11:10," said one person.

"I usually look on the flight tracker, and it didn't say anything," said another person.

"I'm waiting to see my sister. I don't care about the delays, i just want to see her," said one person.

Jetblue told CBS13 they used a manual backup system to cope with the outage.

Sabre said they are closely monitoring the system.
