Fire Near El Dorado High School Threatening Structures, Evacuations Underway

EL DORADO - A fire burning by Koki Lane near Union Mine High School in El Dorado is forcing evacuations, say Cal Fire officials.

As of around 2:30 p.m. Friday, the fire has burned about 50 to 70 acres in the Diamond Springs community. It has also burned two structures and is threatening between 30 and 40 more, Cal Fire told CBS13.

Cal Fire is working to evacuate the area.

Placer police are moving students from nearby Charles Brown SChool to Herbert Green School -- located at 3781 Forni Road, Placerville -- where parents will be able to pick up their children.
