California Couple Arrested With 4 Pounds Of Heroin In Arizona
GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) - A man and woman from California are in custody in Arizona after authorities reportedly found them at a motel with more than 4 pounds of heroin.
Goodyear police say 25-year-old Martin Delgado and 33-year-old Tessa Garcia each are being held on $270,000 bond.
They were arrested last week on suspicion of several drug charges, including transporting narcotic drugs for sale.
Police say they received a tip about a vehicle possibly loaded with drugs parked at a Super 8 Motel.
They served a search warrant on the vehicle and the couple's motel room.
Police say they found drug paraphernalia and 4.2 pounds of heroin with an estimated street value of more than $152,000.
Garcia and Delgado told police they were traveling to Ohio. Their hometowns in California aren't immediately available.
