UPDATED: Woman Stabbed To Death In Rancho Cordova, Husband Hospitalized

RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) - Investigators are trying to figure out what caused an overnight stabbing in Rancho Cordova that left one woman dead and her husband hospitalized.

Sacramento County sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 3500 block of Granby Drive late Thursday night. Upon arriving, a 27-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were found with stab wounds inside the residence.

Deputies were unsuccessful at reviving the woman, who had multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Investigators say his injuries are not life-threatening.

"It definitely looked like a movie scene, but it's reality," neighbor Nicole Walton said. "It just looks like something out of a horror movie."

The woman's identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (916) 874-5115. Tips may also be left anonymously at the sheriff's department website, by texting to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering the keyword SSD, or by calling (916) 874-TIPS (8477).
