Man Shot Early Thursday Morning Near Capitol Grounds

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police say a man was shot during a fight just after midnight near the state capitol grounds.

At 12:24 a.m., Sacramento police received a call reporting a man had been stabbed near 15th and L Streets. But when they arrived, officers found the man with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Police determined an argument began when two people walked by a group of people and exchanged words with some of the people in the group. An argument resulted, and soon developed into a fight between the two groups. One person pulled out a gun and shot the victim.

Police questioned the people involved in the shooting, but have not announced any arrests.
