STOCKTON (CBS13) — Friends and family of a murdered Stockton woman held a vigil marking the one-year anniversary of her death, hoping someone comes forward with news about her suspected killers.
Denise Lemberg, 27, was killed in her driver’s seat when two unknown teens opened fire on her car one year ago on Sunday.
Her mother, Vicki Ryman is on a mission to get justice for her daughter.
“She was a beautiful young girl trying to make her way in the world,” she said.
Lemberg was an EMT, a mother of a 9-year-old, and the designated driver that evening when she pulled up to a home on Mist Trail to drop off a friend
Surveillance video released by Stockton Police shows a car driving by that apparently stops off camera. Two teens walk up to the car and riddle it with bullets.
Lemberg was shot multiple times. Two of her friends were wounded.
Her mother, along with friends and the Guardian Angels, took to the streets to ask for information.
“I didn’t even know Denise, but it took something from me. That’s why I’m here today,” said Howard Jordan. “[My daughter] could have been Denise. That’s why I’m here, and I want people to come forward.”
Police say they don’t know what sparked the shooting.
