Fake Bombs At Sacramento State Annoying Students For Third Consecutive Month

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento State students are frustrated that someone is leaving fake bombs around the campus for a third straight month.

The first fake bomb showed at the beginning of the semester on Sept. 3.

In the past couple of weeks, three more fake bombs were discovered near campus buildings.

Campus investigators say the objects usually consist of wires and broken pieces of electrical parts wrapped in either electrical or duct tape. They're no bigger than a softball.

"It's really difficult to say what the purpose of them are," said Sac State Police Chief Mark Iwasa.

Students say with finals just weeks away that this is the last thing they want to be worried about.

So far there have been no arrests and no description of a possible suspect. Campus police have sent letters to students asking them to report any suspicious activity.
