Volunteers Make Roseville Girl's Wish Come True With Backyard Playground

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — It's been a day one Roseville 3-year-old will never forget, and neither will those who watched her dream come true.

Volunteers spent hours building the perfect play structure for Tamara Vallejo.

She can't go to the park and play, because she has to stay close to home for her needed breathing treatments.

"She has a life-threatening pulmonary condition that prevents her from going to the park, because she has to be in a sterile environment for the most part," said Michelle Flynn with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Volunteers from the Roseville Home Depot help the Make-A-Wish lay the foundation for fun. Those volunteers not only donated their time to build the structure, they took up a collection and bought toys for Tamara and her brother.

Tamara got her first look at the play structure live during the CBS13 News at 4. As volunteers stood by and watched, Tamara made a run to check out her wish come true—her very own park in her backyard.

"There's no way we could've done this without you," said Tamara's mom, Jackeline Vallejo. "And she's going to have therapy while she's playing here in the house, so that's amazing."
