Explosion Injures 2 People At Aerojet Rocketdyne Facility In Rancho Cordova

RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) - One person has been taken to the hospital with unknown injuries after an explosion at Aerojet Rocketdyne in Rancho Cordova.

Firefighters were called out Tuesday at 8 a.m. to 2001 Aerojet Road for an industrial explosion, according to sheriff's department Sgt. Lisa Bowman. One person was taken to the hospital for treatment, while a second person was treated onsite and released.

Bowman says company employees and people living and working near the facility are not in danger.

The cause of the blast is being investigated under unified command by Aerojet Rocketdyne, Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department and the Rancho Cordova Police Department.
