10. Chico Councilman Says Cop Posted Racially Insensitive Facebook Photos

City Councilman Randall Stone called for an internal review after discovering the posts on Officer Todd Boothe's public Facebook page.

One featured a skull painted like the confederate flag, another shows the president's face painted like the Joker. There's another featuring the president dressed in tribal garb, while another post has a homophobic slur.

9. Thieves Swipe Thanksgiving Food From Church, Community Rallies To Help

Thieves crashed through the church's gym window the Friday before Thanksgiving, taking all the food the church was going to give to anyone who wanted a free Thanksgiving meal — literally everything the church had gathered.

More than 1 million cancellation notices have been sent to Californians as the Affordable Care Act begins allowing individuals to buy insurance through exchanges, Jones said. The federal law requires policies to offer minimum levels of coverage, forcing companies to terminate many existing plans. But Jones said that under the law, insurers have another year to do so.
