Parking Infraction Leads Ripon Police To Hundreds Of Counterfeit Credit Cards

RIPON (CBS13) - Police in Ripon have arrested three people in connection with the recent seizure of hundreds of fake credit cards.

At around midnight Wednesday morning, a police officer was conducting a security sweep at the Ripon Loves truck stop when he saw the driver in a 1998 Lexus breaking a parking law. He spoke to the people in the car and found one was on searchable probation for a weapons violation. Another passenger said there was marijuana in the car.

Police searched the car and found around 50 fake credit cards, merchandise, receipts and marijuana.

Billie Jeanette Jenea Crawford, 29, of Modesto and Dushunte Latrace Peterson, 25, of Stockton were arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges included conspiracy, ID theft and possession of forged access cards. Jonathan Lydell Damon Jr., 31, of East Palo Alto, was arrested on charges including ID theft and possession of forged access cards and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

Ripon Police Department detectives served multiple warrants in Modesto and Ripon in connection to the discovery and found hundreds more counterfeit credit cards, merchandise, documents, and receipts.
